Foreign Conversions
For Private, or Commercial pilots from other countries wishing to convert their licence to a Canadian licence.



In order to achieve your Private Licence, you must complete the following:

• Canadian Aviation Regulations state that no additional ground school requirement is necessary.
• Meet the flight time requirements as listed in CARs, your previous flight time is fully credited
• Language Proficiency test
• Radio License Test
• Category 1 Medical examination from a Transport Canada approved doctor
• You must achieve 90% or higher on the PSTAR written exam
• Pass the Transport Canada written exam PPHEL.
• Pass the Flight Test



In order to achieve your Commercial Licence, you must pass the following:

• Meet the flight time requirements as listed in CARs, your previous flight time is fully credited
• Language Proficiency test
• Radio License Test
• Category 1 Medical examination from a Transport Canada approved doctor
• You must achieve 90% or higher on the PSTAR written exam
• Transport Canada Flight Test (on average it takes 10 to 12 hours of flight lessons to prepare for this test)
• Transport Canada written exam CPHEL, 100 multiple choice questions
